I'm planning to participate in the following sessions:
Bring the sweetness of Rosh Hashanah to your table by adding homemade applesauce to your holiday tradition. Join Or Tzion past-president Linda Moskowitz and her granddaughters on Sunday, September 6th for some family fun!

You will need: 

● 8 apples (any combination you like) ● 1 ½ c water or apple juice ● ½ c granulated sugar ● 1 tsp ground cinnamon

● apple peeler ● apple corer ● cutting board ● chopping knife ● large saucepan ● masher, blender or food processor ● mason jars or other storage containers

Take your Yom Kippur Break-Fast up a notch this year with gravlax (cured salmon). Join Or Tzion member and professional chef Michael Press as he demonstrates this sweet and salty Nordic dish on Monday, September 7th!

You will need:

● 3-4 lb skin on salmon, bones removed ● 1 lb kosher salt ● ½ lb brown sugar ● ½ lb granulated sugar ● 2 large grapefruits 

● mixing bowl ● juicer ● zester ● pan with 2 inch high sides ● cheesecloth 

Add a new sweet and tart dessert to your High Holidays menu with salted caramel apple pie bars. Join Or Tzion member and baker extraordinaire Emily Schwedt on Sunday, September 13th to make delectables sure to delight!

You will need:

● 3 sticks unsalted butter or margarine ● ½ c + 4 Tbsp granulated sugar ● 2 tsp vanilla extract ● ½ tsp salt ● 2 ½ c + 4 Tbsp all-purpose flour ● 4-5 large apples (any combination you like) ● 2 ½ tsp ground cinnamon ● ¼ tsp ground nutmeg ● 1 cup old fashioned oats ● ⅔ c brown sugar ● caramel sauce and kosher salt or salted caramel sauce (store bought or homemade)

● 9 x 13 inch pan ● aluminum foil or parchment paper ● mixing bowls ● peeler ● cutting board ● slicing knife
